It was a full week last week. On Monday, we scheduled a memorial service for Saturday. In between, there was a lenten service to plan (including a multi-media sermon), a Sunday sermon to write, several visits to make, a chapel service to do, and all the funeral planning and prep. Adding to the fullness, my parents visited for the weekend. After the funeral, my dad and I got to work on the parsonage. We're making the two bedroom house a three bedroom again. I had done a lot of demo on Friday and things went pretty well. We finished up the wall with a coat of tape and mud by 4:30 on Sunday. Then in the evening, we realized the water heater wasn't working. So we tried to replace the element this morning for a while before deciding to replace the whole water heater. I finally got up to work here at 11am and my dad and mom finally got to head home around 10:30.

Anyway, I did preach on Sunday. Here's the sermon:

In other news, I have virtually no voice today. I'm recovering from a pretty bad cold that's been making its way through our humble home. I will probably try to get a little rest this afternoon.

And that's the news from Browerville.
