On Mondays, it's actually hard for me to remember what happened the week before. A lot of family time on the weekend just blurs my memory, apparently. So these posts actually represent quite a bit of head scratching to try and recall what's been up. I could post more often, but that would be too much work :)
Anyway, it was a full week last week. Had a funeral on Monday. Put together a newsletter on Tuesday and prepped for confirmation. Had a sermon to write and another funeral on Saturday. Somewhere in there, I spent quite a bit of time going through the material we've purchased for Summer worship. It will be an awesome time. We'll be using Faith Inkubators material that provides dramas, music, visuals and more to enhance worship and lead us through the book of Acts. Very nice!
Yesterday, we did our re-challenge to encourage people to make their way through the New Testament, we passed our audio Bibles and invited them to give generously to a project to record the New Testament in Amharic for the poor and illiterate in Ethiopia. It was well received. Here's my sermon on Acts 3:
In other news, there's a lot going on this week, too. Bereket has his school program this afternoon; Eshetu has a pre-school open house on Tuesday. And somewhere in there, this is more work to do planning worship, writing sermons, and trying to get the confirmation year wrapped up. Better get at it.
And that's the news from Browerville.
