I don't have much news to report today. All I can think about is potty.

As I posted last week, Amsale is potty training. And she is doing such a great job. Too good, really. It reminds me of just how little parents can control their kids on certain things. She spent the first day of potty training wetting herself 4-5 times. She didn't even wet her pullups that often! It was as if she was setting us up for what was next. She has pretty much been accident free for over a week. I think it's her way of reminding us that she's really the one that in charge of her bladder -- and if we don't like it, that's just tough ... pee (or -- God help me -- that other stuff that comes out of a nearby hole).

The kids were even well behaved in church yesterday, Audrey reports. There's another place parents have little control over. What's the worst you can do to them if they goof around? Take them out of church? That's what they wanted in the first place! Punish them later? Works for the 5- and 8-year olds, but the 2- and 3-year olds can remember that far ahead. I heard someone say it best recently. You are kind of in survival mode for a few years. You celebrate when they do something well. You suck it up when they don't. They pretty much outgrow it eventually.

Anyway, here's Sunday's sermon:

This week, I have lots of projects to tidy up, some visits to make, and a Vikings win to celebrate.

And that's the news from Browerville.
