What a weekend.

It really began with a great week of somehow cramming a week of work into three days. By Wednesday evening, I had been going pretty crazy. But our Thanksgiving eve service was wonderful. Father Zimmerman from the Catholic church in town came over and preached a nice Thanksgiving sermon and we had a nice crowd for worship and fellowship.

But the next three days were heavenly. Nothing but sitting and eating and visiting and enjoying family and rest. I ate so much I am actually sore today from sitting. I have an inflamed tendon in my thumb that can ONLY be from holding a fork too long. I am truly blessed.

And Advent got off to a fine start. I always think it's a bit difficult to start the church year on a weekend when so many are traveling, but we had a decent-sized crowd. And we made our way though the suddenly changed liturgy. God was proclaimed to be sure. Here's the sermon:

Anyway, it's back to work this week. I still haven't gotten my week mapped out, but there is a lot going on next Sunday that needs some thought and attention. And I know there will be people to connect with as well. Better get to it. Besides, my sore thumb is flaring up with all the typing.

And that's the news from Browerville.
