This morning, my bitterness about the Vikings loss came to a grinding halt. I got a call from a woman whose family is very dear to me saying that her mother -- also a member of Zion -- had died. We will do our best to bury her in hope and peace. I am sad, especially, for her grand kids, many of whom I've gotten to know pretty doggone well over the years. I ache with them today.
In other news (though it feels a little flippant to say such a thing), Amsale turned 3 yesterday. We enjoyed a day at the water park on Sunday (a gift from the aforementioned family) and spent much of the day together yesterday, too. My kids are growing up. Bittersweet to be sure.
Anyway, here's Sunday's sermon:
This week, besides a funeral, fire training continues, Lent looms large, and there is an annual meeting to prep for. Better get at it.
And that's the news from Browerville.
