Daylight Savings

I'm pretty sure the people who invented Daylight savings time were not parents. In fact, I'm pretty sure they had unresolved issues with their parents. I can imagine the behind the scenes conversation:

"Let's see, how can we really mess with Parents? I know, let's tell them it's one hour later than it really is. And let's do it in March when they are completely punch drunk from winter and cabin fever. That ought to screw up their kids sleep schedule really nice. They'll lose an hour of sleep because they'll have to wake their kids up an hour early. Mwa-ha-ha! And then next fall, we'll mess with them again. We'll give them the hour back -- except they won't really get it back because their kids will wake up when they usually do. But instead of bugging them at 6am, it will really be 5am because of the time change. This will work perfectly!"

Seriously. Amsale was up until 10:30 last night. Here I am exhausted, desperately trying to get my hour back. And she's suddenly the night watchman ... er ... watchgirl.

Anyway, I enjoyed my weekend, but it was busy. Got to do some fun fire fighter training on Saturday. We're getting close to the end. Still 4 more weeks or so. Spent the nice afternoon yesterday at a conference meeting (instead of being outside watching the snow melt).

This week is more Lent work. It's a lot of creative work, but it's fun.

And that's the news from Browerville.
