Even though my blogging has been spotty these last few months, I just renewed my domain name (www.browervilleblog.com) for another year. I don't think I'm done blogging. I do a lot more connecting and writing via facebook. I find its interactive nature much more rewarding. But I still need a space to reflect -- and I still fancy myself a technophile. So this is the place to do it. Perhaps we should get an over/under bet going. What's the over/under on blog posts this coming year? 27 would be a good number to bet on.

I'll be gone this weekend with the youth gathering, and so I'll miss the annual Lutefisk Dinner for the first time in 8 years. Whoa. And I also have no sermon to prepare (I wrote one for a lay preacher last week, so no jokes about easy street, OK?). And I wrote a meditation for chapel today, too. I was in Long Prairie this morning for chapel. It's impossible to deny your own mortality when spending time with people closing in on the end of their lives.

In other news, I spent some time this week installing a permanent video setup in the sanctuary, complete with a projector, DVD player, PC, and VCR (just for nostalgia ... and because we had one laying around!!) We're not becoming a mega church in any way, but it will be fun to more easily use video resources in worship. I've got some ideas of Advent cooking right now!

And that's the news from Browerville.
