CPAP, Mornings Three, Four, and Five
Haven't blogged in a few days. But it's not because I've fallen off the CPAP wagon. It was just the weekend. I was fishing. Not blogging.
Anyway, to catch up on my progress, Saturday morning was kind of a groggy one for me. I don't really blame the CPAP. I had a kid up at 2 and 3:30. Same kid. He just has these weird night episodes sometimes. And that's the worst time for me to be awake. I struggle to get back to sleep -- especially with air blowing in my nose! But I rallied nicely and spent the morning running to Brainerd for a new ice auger -- and I wasn't drowsy at all. The afternoon was spent coaching basketball and the evening was spent fishing. I did get REALLY mad at my son when he spilled about a quart of Powerade in the fish house when he had repeated been told to put the cap on. Looking back, it was a HUGE overreaction from me. I have a long ways to go.
Sunday, I woke up feeling like I had slept as well as I had in years. Totally zonked out, deep sleep for about 8 hours. It was blissful. I felt more sharp leading worship, more engaged, more fluid with my sermon and other leadership. I almost enjoyed the annual meeting even! The afternoon was spent fishing with only mild irritation at tangled lines and bored children when the fish didn't bite.
Last night, my sleep was spotty. Still, I feel much less tired. Even when I am awake for a little bit at night, the time I do sleep must be much deeper. Over all, I feel like my daytime drowsiness is trending in the right direction.
But my nostrils hurt. I might need to change masks. I wish it were easier to sleep on my side. Right now it's a big chore -- I have to find just the right spot to avoid the pillows coming out. Maybe I get that changed this week.
And that's the CPAP news from Browerville.
