40 Days of E-Giving

These blog posts are often about the journey.  And you often hear me talk about “the next leg of the journey.”  Well, I want to share with you an exciting mini-journey we’re inviting you to be part of for the next 40 days.

The Finance Committee, along with our Outreach Committee, is issuing a challenge.  We’d like you to think about a new way of giving.  E-giving.  In the past few months, we’ve made arrangements with our bank to be able to receive gifts for our ministry using our website … and even allowing people to give via text message.  We’d like to see that method of giving grow.

So for the next 40 days (August 15-September 23), we’re challenging you to try electronic giving.  Or, if you’ve already tried it, give electronically again!  As an added bonus, every $2 given will be matched with an additional $1 from a private donor.  Up to $2000 of matching money is available.  So if we receive $4000 in gifts, we’ll get an extra $2000 in matching funds!

What will we do with these gifts?  50% will benefit our general fund.  And the other 50% will be divided between the following ministry partners: Womenade, Relay for Life, our Young Adults in Global Mission Scholarship Fund, and Community Outreach.

I understand that you might be perfectly happy writing checks.  That’s fine.  Thank you for your continued generosity in whatever way works for you.  But please share this opportunity with someone you know who might like to give in this way.

Whatever way you give, may your journey of generosity be a blessing to you and to those whom our ministry is able to impact with the good news of Christ.

I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a pretty exciting next leg of the journey!
